Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Volume 1

A Subjective Review of Restaurants and food stores that I frequent near the Hudson River… and an open ended question as to why most places north of Westchester are closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays ?

This series started out as a Facebook rant. The post-script comes first, please stay with me.

This is a narrative and a review. It is about food, and my unconscionable inner food critic, and learning to play nice in a small town. The locals call us urban transplants, “Cidiots” for a reason. Despite that I know I am right, I am also sometimes an idiot. So I captioned my initial rant: “Local upstate NY food-snob rant.” I wrote it soon after starting a new job… kind of my first real job at a formal work office environment since a very looong time ago. The people for whom I work are soft spoken, polite, highly talented and highly functioning. I am grateful for the job. I am a Gen X NYC person so I am still coming into the understanding that Millennials, and even every other generation besides Gen X’ers (whom were fabulously described as The Fuck Around and Find out Generation in a viral post that had me crying with laughter recently), are better versed in diplomatic, non violent communication… also, sometimes I think I am doing the duty of a journalist and that the people just have to know. Then I come around to realize, I’m just an ass hole.
